Foreign Minister Winston Peters has delivered a scathing speech at the United Nations, saying the Security Council has failed in its duties to maintain international peace and security
Addressing the United Nations' General Assembly in New York this morning, Peters said Gaza is now a wasteland, with another generation of young Palestinians traumatised.
Peters told the General Assembly all parties need to comply with the successful Security Council resolution that demanded an immediate ceasefire.
He was unavailable for an interview.
Peters is spending the week in the US meeting with officials, including the Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
