The Government's $600 million boost to Pharmac has been described as bittersweet by some current cancer patients. The funding over four years means the drug buying agency can fund 26 new cancer treatments and 28 other treatments, benefiting about 175,000 people a year. The roll out plan will start around October. Bowel Cancer New Zealand patient advocate Mandy Grantley was first diagnosed six years ago, she spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
