Police on arbitration accepting pay offer

From Morning Report, 7:15 am today

Insiders are warning of mass resignations in the police force, after union members lost their long-running pay dispute with the government. After the parties failed to reach an agreement, an independent arbitrator was brought in to make the final call, and has decided the government's offer is fair. The settlement includes a $1500 dollar lump sum payment, a flat $5000 pay increase for officers, plus another four percent increase this July and another one again next year. Ingrid Hipkiss spoke to deputy police commissioner Jevon McSkimming.
