Storm may develop near Upper North Island

A messy storm could rapidly develop near the upper North Island this weekend, making for a wet and windy end to the school holidays. Early forecasts show low-pressure systems in the Tasman - and another brewing around New Caledonia will arrive here early on Saturday morning. NIWA meteorologist Chris Brandolino spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
