Waipoua residents could be out of homes for a week due to fire

Dozens of residents from the Waipoua Settlement in Northland could be out of their homes for a week, as a large fire continues to rage in grassland and pine forest nearby. As of last night, the flames covered more than 70 hectares, within about a five-kilometre perimeter. Te Roroa Development Group General Manager, Snow Tane, helped with the evacuations last night and spoke with Alexa Cook.
