1.30  Anna Coddington celebrates bilingual album for Matariki

Anna Coddington has released a brand new, bilingual album called Te Whakamiha, released for Matariki and created with her longtime collaborators and band, The Appreciations.

Anna is one of our most acclaimed singer-songwriters, and as a solo artist she is flying - her songs have gathered over two million Spotify streams.

The new album is a celebration, and Anna joined Charlotte in the studio to do just that.

2.20  Aaron Frazer on new music and breaking up: 'It sucks, but it’s not forever'

Aaron Frazer came to world attention with his debut solo album Introducing produced by Dan Auerbach from Black Keys. His second album Into the Blue, out yesterday, charts the difficult months after a breakup, and his decision to move to the other side of America.

The album, however, has a sense of optimism and resilience, and blends soul with psychedelia, spaghetti western, disco, gospel, and hip-hop.

Aaron spoke to Charlotte Ryan from his new base in LA.

3:20 Indy Yelich: 'Your voice has to stand out on its own'

Indy Yelich carries that famous family name, owed to the international stardom of her sister Lorde. But for her own music Indy has dropped the surname, releasing tracks as herself, by herself.

In 2022 Indy released a debut EP Threads and received a lot of attention, now she returns with a brand new single ‘East Coast’, out just yesterday.

Charlotte Ryan caught up with Indy at her home in New York.

4pm  The Mixtape: DJ and producer Lord Echo

Our guest picking the music is rurally-based, internationally-touring DJ Lord Echo.

Lord Echo is the artist name for Michael August who you might know as Mike Fabulous.

He’s a multi-instrumentalist, producer and DJ and has been a part of the New Zealand music scene since the late 90s, playing bass for The Black Seeds for 15 years and performing with Fly My Pretties for many more.

Lord Echo has just returned to Aotearoa after a stint of shows in Japan, and playing support for Jungle at their massive Spark Arena show.
