Canadian singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell was twenty-seven years old when she wrote her fourth album Blue, which this week celebrated its fiftieth anniversary. Nowadays, it's regarded as one of the greatest albums of all time, but at the time of its release Blue's bold themes were too much for some.
