Dire Straits' Chris White - 'It was a really happy band'

Chris White is a saxophone player who joined Dire Straits on the Brothers in Arms tour, performing on some of the biggest stages in the world.

Trained as a jazz musician, Chris started playing rock n roll, blues and pop which led to some pretty extraordinary career highs such as playing alongside Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger, Joe Cocker and Tom Jones to name a few

On his 30th birthday, he played the legendary Live Aid concert at Wembley Stadium and in 1988 performed for Nelson Mandela for his 70th Birthday Concert with Eric Clapton.

Chris is bringing The Dire Straits Experience to Aotearoa in October, playing three shows - Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland - with a full band.
