Deva Mahal grew up Kaua'i, Hawaii, but discovered her voice in New Zealand.
She has toured domestically and throughout the world, gracing the stages of the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, Bonnaroo, Later with Jools Holland, the London Jazz Festival along with many other esteemed events and venues.
She speaks to Charlotte Ryan about her New Zealand Fringe Festival show and why music is in the blood.
