Alan Niven was born a kiwi and lived in Wellington until the age of four when his family moved to the UK.

Alan embarked on a rock 'n' roll voyage that saw him get to the very top of the music business mountain, managing Guns N Roses.

He came out the other side still maintaining his sense of self... just!

For the Radio New Zealand National music profile series Musical Chairs Trevor Reekie secures a rare interview with Alan Niven who talks about a career that started at Virgin UK before relocating to Los Angeles where he worked with Motley Crue, Berlin, Dokken, Great White and Guns N Roses.
