RNZ's flagship music show Music 101 has been the home of great new music for over a decade, continuously evolving to reflect music trends and audience interests.
Over the years, the show has benefited from many passionate music people hosting and reporting on music from Aotearoa and abroad.
Alex Behan presented his final episode on Saturday 22 December.
RNZ thanks Alex for his great contribution to the show, his professionalism and for being the public face of our passion for music, especially that from Aotearoa.
Alex’s colleagues and fans wish him all the very best for his next adventures and are naturally sad to see him go for now.
Check out Alex’s farewell Music 101 show.
I'm very sad to hear this. Alex has his heart in this job. https://t.co/k1ncoaGrmD

Yes, he truly gives a damn. And the programme has wonderfully reflected that care.

RNZ recently appointed a new Music Content Director – Willy Macalister (previously Content Director at dance music station George FM) – who starts with us in February.
The new appointment will facilitate a re-focusing and extension of RNZ’s music coverage, allowing it to better engage with new and current audiences.
In the lead-up to the new appointment, some vacancies within RNZ Music have not been filled, with the view to allowing Willy to plan the next step in our evolution.
Music 101 and the RNZ Music team will continue to bring you great songs and stories about the music we love.
