RNZ Music is proud to present the new single and video from Dunedin-based solo artist Juno Is. ‘It’s No Groover’ is a dark and dreamy psych rock track due out this Friday.
Juno Is, is the new solo project of Dunedin-based Mackenzie Hollebon. After years of playing drums in bands, Mackenzie decided to start a solo project of her own.

She creates dark and dreamy psych rock, with crunchy guitars and smooth vocals.
‘It’s No Groover’ is the second single from Juno Is, following her 2019 debut ‘I Want To Be Gentle’.
The self-recorded demo was wonderfully brought to life by Steven John Marr, who recorded and engineered the track in late October last year.
Written in the depths of winter from a cozy city apartment, while watching the short cold days go by, the track conveys a sense of warmth.
The track's video was produced, directed and edited by Mackenzie herself, with co-direction from Taine Phillips. Additional filming by Taine Phillips and Anja Waugh.
Set to be released this Friday (May 1), the track is a teste pof what’s to come from June Is, who plans to release her debut EP later this year, which will take you further into the dreamy-darkness.
