Longevity is a rare commodity in today's music industry, but if your music can survive the ravages of taste and fashion there's likely to be an eventual pay off as new fans and old ones rediscover the back catalogue. Alas, a disappointing insincerity can creep in as old school bands make a grab for the big bucks. Thank the rock gods then for journeyman space rock group Hawkwind who are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. Jose Barbosa caught up with the band in England and found them refreshingly focused on their audience - not the royalties.
