Bethany Cosentino was winning fans around LA with pretty, vocally driven drone in the group Pokahaunted... then, seemingly out of the blue, she left the group, hooked up with multi instrumentalist Bobb Bruno, traded the distortion for spring reverb and began churning out sunny surf pop numbers that have proved to be a surprise success in the USA.
