7:12 Mapping Environmental DNA
Environmental Protection Authority Chief Scientist, Michael Bunce. joins us on the studio to talk about Environmental DNA (or eDNA) which is genetic material recovered from environmental substrates such as water or soil.
Like ‘genetic breadcrumbs’, eDNA is left behind as critters pass through (or over) the substrate, and allows scientists to survey the species composition within communities at given locations.
