10:17 New book sheds light on Antarctic expedition tragedy

The preserved diary of doomed Antarctic expeditioner Captain Robert Scott is legendary.

Stranded with his shipmates hundreds of kilometres from base camp, Scott's chilling final words - "for god's sake look after our people" has long symbolised courage, and the spirit of British exploration.

But a new book is unearthing a new dimension to the tragedy, with the help of new historic documents, homing in on a dysfunctional relationship between Captain Scott and his second in command, Edward Evans.

Harrison Christian is the author of 'Terra Nova' and joins Emile Donovan.
