Cheap as chips! Queensland public transport slashed to 50 cents

The Queensland government in Australia recently announced it was slashing public transport fares to a flat $0.50.

It's being pitched as a cost of living policy that's also good for the environment - getting people out of cars and onto buses.

Senior fellow with Motu Economic and Public Policy Research Stu Donovan speaks to Nights about the pros and cons of the trial and how it reflects on New Zealand's transport settings.
