If you're planning on getting in the water this summer, you might want to take extra care in and around Tauranga Harbour.
Marine biologist Dr Riley Elliott has been tagging and tracking great whites in the area and believes the Harbour is where they're having their offspring.
Three sharks were tagged as part of his research, which seeks to understand where the sharks have come from, why they're there and how their movements and behaviour overlap with ours.
Elliott used satellite tracking tags to pin the location of three great white sharks, Mananui, Daisy and Swaj, as part of his research project that's yielded some knowledge about their offspring.
