There are 70 students at One Tree Hill College who are getting hands on experience in renovating a house - under the watchful eye of qualified tradies.

Kāinga Ora has provided a former state house, originally from Māngere East -  which year 12 and 13 students doing the school's trades course are able to work on. Part of the retrofitting involves making the house into a dry and healthy home, and this is aimed at preparing the students for apprenticeships in the building sector.
