Guiding Light to the Stars
From Nine To Noon 2 September 2014
Mark Gee is the Royal Observatory's Astronomy Photographer of the Year and is shortlisted again for this year's prize. By day he works as a digital artist for WETA Digital. By night he photographs the skies.
He is self taught and enjoys the challenge of combining New Zealand's striking landscapes with the ethereal beauty of the night sky in new, creative ways.
He also experiments with film and time lapse video. His 2013 film, Full Moon Silhouettes gained him international acclaim.
