Waru
Shot over eight days, Waru (8 in Maori) is about a young boy killed at the hands of his caregiver. The eight Māori filmmakers behind the production say their goal for Waru was to communicate through multiple viewpoints, the shared feelings we have towards child abuse in Aotearoa.
The world premiere of Waru is on August 2nd as part of the New Zealand International Film Festival.
