Creating Saints

Sonia Sly finds out the secrets to bringing Saints to life, and what it's like to create works of art for royalty when she speaks to a UK iconographer who has a New Zealand connection.

Aidan Hart is renowned iconographer who  has published Techniques of Icon and Wall Painting: Egg Tempera, Frescoe, Secco.

He uses traditional methods that stand the test of time and  there's a two year waiting list for commissioned work. His heart is in his faith and he says that this is central to his arts practice.
