Dunedin composer Colin Gibson
For forty years and almost 400 hymns, Dunedin composer Colin Gibson has been praising his God through song. Staunchly Kiwi and fiercely liberal in his writing, he’s strived to use the imagery and the idioms of New Zealand to discuss a theology that speaks to his faith, his politics and his nationality. He’s touring the country right now, teaching a series of workshops on the art of the hymn, and he sits down to talk with Spiritual Outlook producer Justin Gregory.
