09.08 Northern tourism operators count cost of bad weather
As former Cyclone Hale batters the upper North Island, many tourist operators are counting the cost of what has been a very stormy summer. For Dive Tutukaka the first week of January is normally the busiest of the year but the bad weather has meant they can't get their boats out and they have lost all their bookings for the week. Dive Tutukaka owner Kate Malcolm joins Anna to talk about the impact of one of the worst starts to the new year she can remember.

09.45 The pact to attend every Rugby World Cup
As the All Blacks stormed to victory at the first ever Rugby World Cup in 1987 a group of students in the Hutt Valley made a pact that they would attend every World Cup that followed. Two of that group have managed it - from the tournament in 1991 in the UK and Ireland all the way through to the 2019 World Cup in Japan. One of them was John Foreman who is also preparing to travel to the 2023 edition in France later this year.

Urban Jumble Daily Quiz
We've come up with a daily quiz to test both your word and geographical skill. Every day we're giving you three words. Within each word are letters which spell out a New Zealand town or city. Each letter can only be used once. While some words may have more than one answer, the correct answer must be the town or city we're thinking of. So have a pen and paper and a map at hand and have a go.
