Far North mayor Moko Tepania has been making waves since he stepped into the big office - being both the first Māori Mayor in the region, and one of the youngest, at 33.
Aside from leading the recovery of roads and infrastructure damaged by Cyclone Gabrielle, last year he found time to graduate with a Masters in Māori Education at Waikato University.
Not only that, he made international headlines in 2024 winning the One Young World Politician of the Year Award, which recognises outstanding politicians making a positive impact on young people around the world.
He joins Anna Thomas for a virtual roadie, including picking the tunes, sharing his favourite summer reads, and explaining what drives him.
