Twenty young New Zealanders will compete against the world's best at the 2020 Youth Winter Olympics in Switzerland over the next two weeks.
The athletes are all aged between 14 and 18 years old, and are aiming to win New Zealand's first Winter Youth Olympic gold medal, with participants in a range of disciplines, including snowboarding, ice hockey, skiing events, and even curling.
The Games will begin in Lausanne tonight with the opening ceremony, where 17-year-old cross-country skier and biathlon athlete Campbell Wright, from Lake Hawea, will lead the team in with the New Zealand flag.
He spoke to Logan Church.
