Music distribution company TuneCore reports there's been a 154 per cent growth in the popularity of metal music world-wide.
Metal topped all other genres in 2018 when it came to increased streams and downloads from the previous year.
Other music genres on the rise include:
- J-Pop – 133% increase
- R&B/Soul – 68% increase
- K-Pop – 58% increase
- World music – 57% increase
- Instrumental – 42% increase
