The Panel with Guy Williams and Cindy Mitchener (Part 1)

From The Panel, 4:03 pm on 31 July 2019

A Coroner says that young children should not make their own way to school without an adult. Coroner Tim Scott made the statement in his findings into the death of six year-old Gisborne girl Carla Neems who was struck and killed by a rubbish truck in 2017. Andy Smith of the group Living Streets Aotearoa says this goes against the government's position to encourage exercise and health in children. Wellington council's rental property warrant of fitness is a well-intentioned flop according to landlords. It was described the first of its kind and was aimed at improving the quality of rentals. It was supposed to result in thousands of warm flats but nearly two years only two signed up. Two rentals have acquired a WOF pass mark. Andrew King of the Property Investors Association isn't impressed. We're creatures of habit. Most couple have, what they consider to be, their own side of the bed. Switching sides to be a bridge too far for a lot of people.
