Episode 221 features an interview with the Malian kora genius, Toumani Diabaté. This man has an incredible musical pedigree where the kora has been passed down in his family for over 71 generations - little wonder he has such extraordinary musical skills. Toumani was literally born to play the 21 stringed African harp !. His new album is a collaboration that sees Toumani playing with The London Symphony Orchestra. The album called Kôrôlén, meaning  “ancestral” in the Mandingo family of languages will be released in April…It’s a sumptuous blend of kora and classical music.
