Police are searching for those responsible for an armed robbery at an Auckland restaurant on Sunday night.

Police were called just after 9.30pm to Tokyo Bay on The Strand in Takapuna, North Shore after two people entered, armed with weapons and threatened staff.

No injuries were reported.

Police said the weapons were not guns.

The duo stole a number of items, fleeing the scene in a vehicle before police arrived.
