The police are carrying out a scene examination on a Dunedin street where a woman was found dead, this morning.
The 51 year old was found in Strathallen Street.
The police say the woman's family have been advised of her death, but she will not be named until a post mortem has been completed.
A cordon has been established and a tarpaulin has been erected where a body was found near the corner of Strathallen Street and Portsmouth Drive.
The police say the death is being treated as unexplained and staff remain at the scene.
