The speciality dairy producer Synlait Milk has settled a long-running dispute that went all the way to the Supreme Court, over its factory in Pokeno.
The $260 million infant formula plant started production in September last year but previous owners had placed covenants on the land, restricting its use to farming, forestry or lifestyle developments.
Synlait, however, argued the land had been rezoned to industrial so the covenants were no longer relevant.
The case went to the Supreme Court in June, but a decision had not yet been released.
Synlait chief executive Leon Clement said the court had been notified and it was good to be able to move forward.
"Synlait and New Zealand Industrial Park are committed to working collaboratively for the benefit and integration of the Pokeno community and are pleased to have this behind us.
"We are also pleased to provide certainty for Synlait's shareholders, customers, farmer suppliers and staff."
He said the amount paid to settle was confidential, but not material.
