More than three million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine have now been given in New Zealand, according to the Ministry of Health. See how the rest of day 9 of lockdown unfolded with RNZ's live blog.
In a statement released this afternoon, the Ministry said 1.94 million first doses and more than 1.07 million second doses have been administered.
There were 87,972 vaccines given yesterday - 61,755 first doses and 26,217 second doses. The Ministry said this was the biggest daily total to date, "and reflects the huge amount of work across the system".
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said this afternoon that she wants to see the highest number of people vaccinated to avoid lockdowns in the future.
"Vaccinations provide everyone with their own individual armour."
