The New Zealand men's basketball team have suffered an agonising 88-86 loss to Canada, who scored on the final buzzer of their semi final match to advance to the gold medal playoff at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
New Zealand trailed by 21 point at one stage of the match but fought their way back in the final quarter to lead 86-85 with five minutes to go.
Canada inbounded the ball and with time all but up sank a long range three pointer to seal the win.
New Zealand will play Scotland for the bronze medal while Canada will play Australia for gold tomorrow.
