The New Zealand boxers David Nyika and David Light will contest Commonwealth Games gold medal bouts on Sunday after winning their semi-finals on Saturday.

Auckland's David Light is in the heavyweight final following his win over Scotland's Stephen Lavelle. Light will fight Canada's Samir El-Mais for the gold medal.
The last New Zealander to win a Commonwealth Games boxing gold medal was Michael Kenny who won the Super Heavyweight divison in Auckland in 1990.
