The anti-litter organisation, Keep New Zealand Beautiful, is "disgusted" by a messy Mother's Day marketing campaign for littering the streets with thousands of post-it notes.
The National Flower Promotion Group's campaign uses post-it notes stuck to walls, poles, and bus stops throughout the country, which it hopes will remind people to buy flowers on Mother's Day.
Keep New Zealand Beautiful chief executive Simon Johnston says the campaign is an absolute disgrace.
He says this kind of guerilla marketing can backfire on businesses and organisations if the means of promoting the product is perceived to be damaging to the environment.
Mr Johnston hopes the flower industry has something better planned next year.
