The Government has released a booklet with specialist guidance on health and safety for mine, quarry and tunnel managers.
The Pike River Royal Commission last year recommended that the health and safety regulator issue an approved code of practice for managers.
Labour Minister Simon Bridges says the guidance has been developed in consultation with industry experts.
He says it is a tool for managers to lift health and safety attitudes and performance in their businesses, and contains advice they should be using every day.
The Government also recently released health and safety guidelines for company directors.
