The man who killed the teenager Christie Marceau has been denied parole for the earlier crimes he was on bail for.
The Parole Board says Akshay Chand is still an undue risk to community safety.
He's serving a three-year sentence for kidnapping, threatening to rape and threatening to grievously harm Ms Marceau.
Chand, who is now 21, was on bail for those charges when he brutally killed the 18-year-old in November 2011.
He was detained as a special patient after being found not guilty of her murder because of insanity.
However, he's been considered for parole for his earlier crimes.
But the Parole Board says it's clear Chand cannot be considered for release.
It says he was recently reviewed by a panel which was concerned about whether he was clear of the symptoms.
The board says he is seen as compliant, and has no motivation to do anything more than what's asked of him. It also says he has no motivation to work to identify his treatment needs.
