A $200,000 digital literacy programme is being launched in Christchurch's schools.
Associate Education Minister Nikki Kaye said on Thursday the aim of the programme is for every child nine years and older to have access to online learning at school and at home.
Ms Kaye says the Greater Christchurch Schools Network is leading the programme which will be targeted at low-decile schools.
She says access to personal devices along with home connectivity improves student engagement and achievement if combined with quality teaching.
Ms Kaye says the initiative allows parents to be more involved and engaged with their children's learning.
