Solid Energy has confirmed that the total number of job losses at its Stockton mine will be 184.
The company told staff at the end of June this year that 185 people would lose their jobs at the West Coast coal mine.
The company said it needs to reduce production at the export mine by a quarter from 1.9 million tonnes a year to 1.4 million tonnes in the next financial year.
A spokesperson on Monday confirmed that 134 employees and 50 contractors will lose their jobs.
The spokesperson said some employees would continue to work out their notice but all will be off the job by mid-August, leaving 386 staff at the mine.
