A car has crashed during a police pursuit in Christchurch this afternoon.
The Serious Crash Unit is at the scene of the crash on State Highway 76, which has been reduced to one lane, a police spokesperson said.
The pursuit started just before 1pm, when a driver failed to stop after being signalled to do so in Addington, the spokesperson said.
They chased the car on to the Southern Motorway, where it crashed.
A man has been arrested for driving while forbidden.
