A photographer who took pictures of a fatal air balloon crash over Carterton will ask the Court of Appeal to stop his work being made available to the media.
Eleven people, including pilot Lance Hopping, died in the 7 January 2012 crash when the balloon struck power lines and plummeted into a paddock near Carterton.
The Coroner had ruled during the subsequent inquest that four photos taken during the crash could be published but photographer Geoff Walker has asked the High Court to overturn that ruling.
In a decision released last month, the High Court ruled the photos could be given to the media but Mr Walker's lawyer has now sought a further hearing in the Court of Appeal.
The photos were due to be released later today but will remain on the court file pending the appeal hearing.
Mr Walker has already released a number of photos taken before the flight.
The Coroner is currently working on his findings into the crash.
