The man accused of stabbing his former wife to death in a triple stabbing in Auckland has appeared in court.
Brent Donavan Scott, 45, is charged with yesterday murdering Heidi Welman-Scott, 41.
He was remanded in custody with his own consent at his appearance this morning at the North Shore District Court. He will next appear in the High Court on 17 December.
He is also charged with attempting to murder his ex-wife's daughter Taryn Scott, 22, and the daughter's partner, Matija Miletic, also 22.
The pair, who were left critically injured, are in a serious but stable condition at Auckland Hospital.
High-profile lawyer Marie Dyhrberg, who is representing Mr Scott, successfully argued against photos or video being taken of him in court.
"This is someone appearing in court, obviously in a particular state, in a particular dress and, with respect, it is inappropriate for him to be filmed as he is at the moment."
Mr Scott was standing in blue overalls and also had two officers in the dock with him, one just centimetres behind him.
