Most punters are betting on New Zealand to win the Cricket World Cup, which has its first game tomorrow in Christchurch.
The Black Caps open the tournament against Sri Lanka at 11am at Hagley Oval.
TAB bookmaker Mark Stafford told Checkpoint that almost seven out of every 10 bets were backing the home team.
"Interestingly about 65 percent of all money on the tournament winner is on New Zealand, and I guess you'd expect it to be slightly skewed the New Zealand way given it is here and most of our pundits are New Zealand based but that's a massive, massive amount."
Mr Stafford said New Zealand was still ranked third behind Australia and South Africa.
The TAB is offering $3 for Australia to win, $3.74 for South Africa and $5 for a New Zealand.
Mr Stafford said one punter could win $60,000 after betting $10,000 on the Black Caps when they stood at $6 to win.
