The man charged with the murder of a Christchurch woman whose badly burnt body was found near Rakaia can now be named.
Sainey Marong, a 32-year-old butcher from Ilam, has been charged with murdering Renee Duckmanton on 14 May.
The 22-year-old was a sex-worker who was last seen in the Manchester/ Peterborough Street area of Christchurch.
Her body was found by a member of the public on Main Rakaia Road the following night.
Interim name suppression has lapsed for Mr Marong and he can now be named, a statement from the High Court in Christchurch said.
Family members of Renee Duckmanton yelled abuse and had to be restrained when Mr Marong first appeared in court in May after his arrest, where he was granted interim name suppression.
He is next due to reappear in court in August.
