A woman has been rescued from the Manawatu River but a man is still missing, police say
The police are helping with the search, in the area around Palmerston North, after emergency services were alerted about 6pm.
They said a woman had been rescued from the river and was being treated by ambulance staff. It was believed a man was still in the water.
Local surf lifesavers have been called to help with the search, and emergency services and a helicopter were searching the river and the nearby area.
