Cordons around the Queensgate Mall in Lower Hutt have been reduced today.
The mall was damaged in last November's 7.8-magnitude earthquake.
Hutt City Council said vehicles could now access a restaurant and Hutt City New World.
A council spokeswoman said strong winds had caused delays for the demolition crews, who were still working to bring down the northeastern corner of the mall.
The demolition should be completed in early March if the weather did not cause further delays, she said.
