For the first time in 10 years, Niue High School is participating in the largest Polynesian school festival in the world, beginning in Auckland today.
Close to 100,000 spectators are expected over four days at Manukau Sports Bowl for PolyFest.
Students are competing on five main stages to perform traditional items from the Cook Islands, Māori, Niuean, Samoan and Tongan cultures and there is also a diversity stage.
24 students and five teachers from Niue have raised funds so they could attend.
Niue High School leader and year 13 student, Sariah Magaoa, said it was an incredible opportunity.
