There is concern in the north of New Caledonia that some air services to the region have been called into question.

The domestic carrier Air Loyaute had been poised to run some flights previously operated by the other domestic airline Air Caledonie.
It involved flights from Magenta airport in Noumea to Touho, Koumac and Belep.
However according to the public broadcaster there has been a dispute over the employment terms of ground staff.
It also said that there have been no talks on the issue and Air Loyaute has decided to hold off with the service.
