The woman found dead in a Nelson hotel last Friday has been named by police as Swiss national Yanyan Meng.

The 62-year-old was found dead in a room of Nelson's Rutherford Hotel, and a 62-year-old man was later charged with murder.
The man made a brief appearance in the Nelson District Court yesterday.
Police said on Friday the victim knew the man, who has been remanded in custody without plea until next month.
